The researchers from the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformatics and students of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology took part in another edition of Geotope Day.
Geotope Day is one of the activities within the "UNESCO Geopark Mużakowa Arch - common heritage in the Polish-German border region" project. The event took place at the viewing tower on the Former Mine "Babina" geotourist trail in the Lipinki Forest District.
Many attractions were prepared for the participants of this year's event, including games, geo quizzes, workshops, photo exhibitions, and special shows. The Department's representatives presented the scientific activities carried out in the research project "Genesis and course of anthropogenic and natural land deformations in the post-mining areas of the former lignite mine" Babina " financed from the National Science Centre OPUS funds, and the youngest participants of the event were introduced to the secrets of geodesy with presentations of measuring equipment.
The event was organized by the Lipinki Forest District.
