At the beginning of September, we hosted colleagues from Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg in Wroclaw for the kick-off meeting of the "Closed-Loop lmpact Monitoring for Energy Transition in Rural Regions Acceptable Environmentally and Socially" (CLEAR) research and development project.
The project is financed by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development and by the German Federal Ministry for Research and Education within the frames of the 4th Polish-German bilateral cooperation program call. The research aims to develop an integrated satellite/terrestrial monitoring methodology for high precision spatial change detection on ground deformation in rural areas under the influence of mining (underground gas storage) operation, as well as an impact prediction decision support tool for operational and strategic control and management.
The project involves two industry partners, i.e. Freiberger Prazisionsmechanik responsible for developing precise displacement measuring devices, and InfoSolutions Sp. z o.o. responsible for web-based geovisualization applications. The project will last for 3 years.
